Apple has a numerous amount of competitors. Because they have so many products and services, the competition goes up. Their main competitors include but are not limited to:
Apple stays so competitive because they have a clear vision, exceptional products, and excellent execution tactics. Their products make you want to buy the other products. For example, when the iPhone came out, lines formed out of the buildings of Apple stores to purchase one. When people discovered how great the iPhone was, they wanted the next thing Apple produced- the iPad. The cycle continues with every product or service Apple sells. Another great thing about Apple products is that their content can be shared to every Apple device via iCloud. This means an Apple product user can listen to their music, view their photos, and load their documents on their iPhone, iMac, and iPad. Not only does Apple make flawless products, they make them convenient and easy to use.
This all circles back to the fact that Apple performs off of a vertically integrated model. They are not dependent on their partners- all of their innovations are done on their own time. Because they have continual increases in profits, they are able to invest more in research and marketing to further improve and innovate their products.
In regards to Apple's competitors, one thing Apple hasn't been able to do that other companies, like Samsung, can is making their products at a low cost. Other companies, like Google and Microsoft, are also figuring out how to strengthen their own market share. This potentially threatens Apple, but if they stay ahead with product innovation and say true to their vision, they will continue to succeed.
